You’ve probably seen it at a trendy cafÃ©, farmer’s market or your hip friend’s kitchen wall. Chalk lettering is everywhere these days, and for good reason. The worn out feel of chalk combined with the organic, naÃ¯ve vibe of hand lettering results in a visual style that is nothing short of charming. While sometimes artists use actual chalk to create this effect, there are now alternatives like liquid chalk and chalk markers that make the process much easier. Some of our shop owners have even created digital kits to imitate the chalky style. If youÂ´re curious, take a look at the collection at the bottom of this post. In the last #LDSgenconf, Jeffrey R. Holland gave a beautiful talk about motherhood. One of my favorite parts was an excerpt of a letter he received from a young mother – one part read: â€¢ “…such love will range between unbearable and transcendent, over and over again…” â€¢ Oh how true this is! I am in constant awe of how quickly my feelings can change from complete frustration to absolute joy. The key is to remember that those wonderful moments will come and they will make up for all the rough patches. â€¢ So, don’t feel like a terrible mother if you want to run away or escape or call it quits every once in awhile (or every five minutes) – you are not alone. But we can all do way more than we think when we turn to Our Savior who can help us with every tantrum and every sleepless night. First day back from moving and road tripping through the Pacific North West and GOOOD lawwwd was it gorgeous. I have to admit, I was going a little nuts trying to catch up on orders while moving (I.E: customer receives MY missing comcast bill along with her order the same day I shipped 9 signs and boxed my whole house ????) I am always trying to take on everything by myself and am the last person to ask for help, which has really hindered my success in times like this. Luckily, I have such a solid support team in my life and was reminded that no matter how important things may seem, sometimes you have to take those mental breaks… EVEN if you think you don’t need them. I did just that and it has completely given me the creative boost I was needing for all you fall orders! I’m so grateful I have the opportunity to make pretty things for such awesome people such as yourselves and can’t thank you enough for all the positive feedback/ patience with this one woman show.
