Picking out the best font combination for any project can be taxing, and when you’ve got over 5k fonts in your fonts folder, things can become frustrating. Now combine that with the concept originally created by dating app Tinder: swiping left or right to decide your preference in people that you might be interested in dating. What you get is Font Flame.
When you visit the site, you’re presented with a black screen and a white card. On said card are two fonts established as a header and body text pairing, with their names up top. Pick what you hate or love by clicking on the appropriately tagged “Hate/Love,” and play as long as you like. Then, if you click the “My Type” tag up top, you’ll see the favorites from your session. Or, if you want to go another route, look at “Curated” and pick from some of the font choices selected by a premier designer.
As if all that wasn’t cool enough, you can also swap out the text on the site with your own. So if you have a title and some text that you want to compare, you can do that, too!
Overall, this is a pretty neat little tool to try out, and even though it’s still in a bit of a beta stage, it’s worth a look. Who knows, you might use it the next time you want to pair some fonts!
