Zoom calls have transitioned from a predominantly work-related tool to a social app used to bring together family and friends all around the world. In the process, we’re all trying to add a bit more fun and bring more personality into the whole experience of video conferencing. Whether you’ve become more intentional about the clothes you wear or your surroundings, hopping on a call is probably looking a little different lately.
Taking note of that, Zoom is now allowing users to upload virtual background images. This feature leverages technology that has been around for decades: the green screen effect. While Zoom’s Virtual Backgrounds will work better on a pure green screen, you can use any solid color background and achieve a pretty realistic effect.
