Orrery Orbit - Orbiting Font!
About
Orrery, one script, three ways to end a word!
Orrery is an ornate connected pointed-pen script with very long tails. Every stroke is drawn with a pointed-pen logic, hairline up and shade down; every place two strokes cross is woven over and under like knotwork; capitals unwind out of a spiral and carry foot tendrils that sweep back under the previous word. A fine nibbled ink texture is baked into the outlines, so it prints and cuts exactly as it looks on screen.
The family comes as three fonts. The letters are identical, what differs is what happens, automatically, at the end of each word.
Orrery: the ending loops. The last small letter of every word takes a round, long-tailed loop that swings back under the word and curls closed, like a signature that refuses to end. Inside the word the letters stay clean. You just type; the loops land where a calligrapher would put them.
Orrery Orbit: the rings. Every word is wrapped in a hairline ring sized to its length, five sizes from a single letter to a fourteen-letter word. Neighbouring words chain through each other’s rings. Type a word, press space, it is orbited. No panels, no settings.
Orrery Plain: nothing automatic. Every letter plain and connected, in any app, whatever its settings. The loops, rings and all the other alternates are still inside, switched on only when you ask. Made for logos, for apps without OpenType panels, and for when you want to choose each flourish yourself.
