Pantone is a big topic around these parts, so when they name their Color of the Year, we take notice (even when it’s two of them). Today Pantone announced their 2017 Color of the Year, and its symbolism comes as a breath of fresh air after a grueling 2016: Greenery Pantone 15-0343.
“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment,†said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute. “Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purposeâ€.
At first glance, we realized it looks really… familiar. We just can’t place it. Take a look and tell us what you think:
That’s it! It’s almost identical to our Creative Market green.
Pantone cites new beginnings as the message they hope to send with their honorable selection of 2017’s Color of the Year: “Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”
We’re ready to leave 2016 behind. Bring on the Greenery!
